June 2025

From the Chairman
A great time was had by one and all at the Ashtead Village Day on the 14th June, which was very well attended by the public. Thanks to the 8 club members who helped with setting up, manning the stall, demonstrating and packing up at the end. A special thank you to Wojtec for keeping the generator running so sweetly enabling us run the lathe, boil the kettle and of course keep his scroll saws going, which as always were a great hit with the children. Very well done to those selling who collectively brought in over £1200.

We have Chestnut products next month so please have your ‘finishing’ questions ready.

Last Meeting
Our yearly date with Martin Saban Smith. Martin made, coloured and polished a hollow form which he finished off with a very fine finial. Considering the amount of work involved I think he did well to complete the project within the timeframe. Another enjoyable demonstration.
