2024

December 2024

Thanks to those that came along to the Christmas meeting last week. We presented the Frank Clarke Trophies, watched a couple of seasonal turning clips on You Tube and enjoyed some mince pies, cake and a cuppa. The next meeting is the AGM and it is club protocol that committee members stand down each year. An AGM Agenda, Nomination and Proxy voting forms are appended to my email. On behalf of the committee, I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and ...

November 2024

Looks like my suggestion to share contact info was debated about 10 years ago, with a number of concerns around privacy being raised at the time. I think it's worthy of another discussion and will include on January’s AGM agenda. It is club protocol that committee members should stand down each year. Nomination forms together with Proxy forms will be emailed within the next couple of weeks.

October 2024

Having spoken with a number of members, I am looking to draw up a contact list showing names, phone & email details together with any personal info (lathe model, special interests etc), hopefully to encouraging more member interaction. Another idea would be to set up a WhatsApp group to readily share useful information between participants. Involvement would of course be on a voluntary basis. We can discuss options at next month’s meeting.

February 2024

Welcome to 2024, and our first meeting after the AGM.  Our AGM was a little low on turnout, but the freezing conditions kept some people away no doubt. We had some interesting discussion throughout the AGM, our constitution, our quorum, and the nomination and voting of our new committee.

January 2024

Our retiring Chairman, David Buskell has departed, and we would like to thank him for his many years service to the club. Hopefully he will still be along to our meetings. But we really need one or better still two more members to make up our squad so please speak to a committee member if you could help. We will be working on our programme and would hope to have a few more dates sorted for the next meeting.
