Stewart was our demonstrator at the meeting on Wednesday 19th September. He describes himself as a woodturner but his obvious specialism is in the colouring and decoration of wood. Whether art and decoration are one and the same thing may well be the subject of debate but his finished pieces are stunning and widely sought after.
He is an English teacher and took up woodturn- ing as a hobby. He soon turned to colouring and found that his work sold well. This prompted him to go public and set up a website to exhibit his work. He went one step further with ‘you tube’and videos to explain his techniques and results.
